Passenger Takes Control of Plane in Place of Delayed Pilot
A passenger on an EasyJet flight in the United Kingdom took control of the aircraft after the pilot was delayed. According to Manchester Evening News, the flight from the UK to Spain was delayed for two hours because the pilot could not reach the UK due to a series of flight delays and cancellations in France.
It turned out that the passenger who assumed the pilot's duties was a qualified pilot for the same company, who was on holiday at the time. Upon realizing the situation caused by the pilot's delay, he contacted representatives from the company's main office and offered to fly the plane.
After some arrangements, the company's management agreed. The man stepped in front of the passengers and informed them of the situation to avoid causing any alarm.
After a short while, the plane successfully landed in Alicante, Spain.
