After the Meeting of Pashinyan, Safilyan, and Chugasyan, Shocked Sentiments Arise: Marine Sukiasyan
Member of the Alternative Projects Group Marine Sukiasyan writes: "Prime Minister Pashinyan's meeting yesterday with 'Sasna Tsrer' leaders Jirayr Safilyan and Gargein Chugasyan was a demonstrative demarche against the security forces. We must understand why Nikol Pashinyan is delegitimizing his Police Chief and the Director of the NSS, as well as many honest and patriotic officers and employees of the police and national security services.
By meeting with the leaders of the grouping that killed their comrades and carried out an armed attack on the police regiment in Yerevan, and emphasizing the importance of this meeting through a spokesman, Pashinyan insults not only the professional but also the human dignity of the security personnel and law enforcement officers.
How will Pashinyan look into the eyes of the families of the policemen who died during the capture of the police regiment, in the eyes of their friends? How will he look into the eyes of police and NSS employees who perform their duty every day, often under real threats to their lives? The state's security forces understood from yesterday's meeting that the current leader of the country could meet with those who fire at them or have killed their friends at any moment, based on his interests. With the groups they fight against every day. No one has abolished the concept of a soldier's honor.
After yesterday's meeting, there are shocking sentiments within the informed segments of society. This shock will soon spread among the majority in the National Assembly as well, where there are many honest and aware individuals among the 88 members. Either there is a goal to demoralize the security system of one's own state, or there is some internal process of which we are unaware, and which is also the reason for Pashinyan's hasty search for new allies and a new team. In either case, Pashinyan is leading the state into a phase of shocks and instability."
