Details: Caretaker of Yerevan's School No. 53 Dragged 6-Year-Old Girl on the Ground
On September 4, an extraordinary incident occurred at one of Yerevan's schools. The caretaker of School No. 53, located on Tigran Mets Avenue in the Erevan administrative district, reportedly grabbed the hand of 6-year-old E. T. from the ‘Ayb Ben Gim’ development center, which operates at the same address, in an attempt to remove her from the school premises. He allegedly threw her to the ground and dragged her, resulting in physical injuries to the child.
SHANTNEWS.am spoke with Armine Davtyan, director of the ‘Ayb Ben Gim’ development center, who informed that the 6-year-old girl involved in the incident has autism. “That child is a student at our center; every day the mother takes her to play in the yard of School No. 53. The child has autism, she is a girl, and she can often bite or lie on the ground if she doesn’t get to the place she wants. According to my information, the school principal asked them to leave the yard to close the door (it was around 5:00 PM), and while the mother ran after the child’s backpack, the caretaker pulled the child,” she said.
When asked about the nature of the injuries sustained by the child, Armine Davtyan stated that she couldn't specify but certainly does not rule out that the child could have been injured due to the incident. She also mentioned that the child’s mother has health issues as well.
