20 Victims Confirmed from Hurricane Dorian's Devastation
The number of casualties and those affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas continues to rise as recovery efforts proceed. Reports indicate at least 20 fatalities, according to the country’s health minister, as cited by the Miami Herald.
Earlier, the death toll was reported to be 7. It is important to note that the hurricane struck the northern part of the Bahamas on September 2, tearing roofs off numerous homes and toppling trees. Accompanying torrential rains have flooded roads and submerged houses.
As of September 3, the hurricane's intensity has diminished from a Category 5 to a Category 2.
