700 Civilians Killed in Syria by US Airstrikes: Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sharply criticized the US airstrikes in the Syrian city of Idlib. He stated that the United States is attempting to level the city to the ground, just like Aleppo.
“As a result of the bombings carried out by the US, around 700 civilians have died. Of course, there may also be militants in the city, but Idlib is gradually disappearing,” Erdogan stated, according to local media.
He mentioned that they aim to establish a “safe zone” in Syria to accommodate refugees. Erdogan noted that the issue of Idlib would be raised both at the trilateral meeting of Russia, Iran, and Turkey, as well as at the UN General Assembly session, which will take place in mid-September.
