Video: Armenian Minor Without Parental Care Transferred from Russia to Armenia

The police continue to take measures within their jurisdiction to provide necessary support to families and return minors to their families. Recently, information was received at the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Main Directorate for Criminal Investigation that an Armenian minor without parental care had taken refuge in a social rehabilitation center in the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation.

This information was promptly addressed by the Armenian police, and as a result of the measures taken, the minor's mother was located. She had no means to return her daughter to Armenia and requested assistance from the relevant authorities to organize her daughter's return.

Based on the requirements of the 2002 agreement between CIS member states on the return of minors to their countries of permanent residence, on August 30, the minor was returned to Armenia through the efforts of the police's Minor Affairs and Family Violence Prevention Division and has since found shelter at the Children’s Support Center of the Armenian Relief Fund.
