The Level of Lake Sevan is Dropping
The newspaper 'Zhamanak' reports: On August 21, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a post on his Facebook page stating that 51 million cubic meters less water has been released from Lake Sevan compared to 2018. However, the reality is that as of August 29, the level of Lake Sevan has dropped by 1 cm compared to the same day last year, reaching a mark of 1900.64.
Interestingly, on August 29, 2018, Lake Sevan was also 1 cm lower than in 2017, with the water level at 1900.66. It turns out that the lake's level has been decreasing year after year instead of rising.
