Police Detain One Woman from Constitutional Court Premises, Another Invited to Police Station
Police have detained one woman from the premises of the Constitutional Court, while another woman was invited to the police station. Officers stated that the woman was detained for failing to comply with the lawful order of the police.
The woman invited to the police station, who is among the supporters of second President Robert Kocharian, recounted that the detained woman struck her head while she was bending down to drink water. 'I bent down to drink water, and she hit me on the head,' she said.
It is noteworthy that the situation has escalated several times both in the courtroom of the Constitutional Court and outside, where supporters of Robert Kocharian have gathered since the morning.
The Armenian Constitutional Court is currently considering, through written proceedings, the petition of former President Robert Kocharian regarding the constitutionality of the application of preventive measures against him based on Article 35 and Part 2 of Article 135 of the Criminal Procedure Code, as well as questions surrounding the circumstances that exclude the proceedings of the criminal case or criminal prosecution against him.
Protests are being held in the Constitutional Court courtyard both by supporters of Robert Kocharian and those opposing him.
