If Levon Kocharyan has information about pressure on the courts, he should contact law enforcement. ALen Simonian

If Levon Kocharyan has information regarding such pressures, he should contact law enforcement agencies, said Alen Simonian, the Vice President of the National Assembly, during a press briefing after a working discussion of the My Step faction. This response was in regard to allegations that pressures are being exerted on the courts at the level of the state leader.

“I am not a representative of a legal body; I am a representative of a political body, and I can provide a political assessment, which I believe the public has already expressed through both the elections and at the high level of the Prime Minister. The public has assessed Kocharyan's low, you could say, non-existent rating,” he stated.

In response to the remark that they elected a member to the Constitutional Court based on this logic, referring to Vahe Grigoryan, Simonian replied, “If we were to appoint judges solely based on resolving an issue, we would not differ from previous administrations; we make selections when an appropriate candidate is available, not for serving some vested interest.”

Meanwhile, Simonian noted that the issue of Amulsar has not been discussed in the meeting, and they have been working on legislative initiatives, listening to member proposals concerning work, and considering the observations of MPs on what topics are appropriate to raise in international platforms.
