Foreign Ministry Denies Reports of Demand to Withdraw Troops from Syria
The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a question from Aysor.am, has addressed the circulating rumors in the media stating that the "U.S. government has demanded the Armenian authorities to withdraw troops from Syria." In response to the comment that a relevant discussion has also taken place among Armenian government agencies on this issue, Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan stated:
“We have already denied this information multiple times. At present, an attempt is being made to circulate information that has already been denied by state structures, with new fabricated details that also do not correspond to reality, thus forming a multilayered fake news. We consider the unfounded exploitation of issues related to the security of the Armenian community in Syria and the support provided to them as unacceptable, driven by narrow personal interests.
As an aside, I can simply add that the agencies working in the security sector and their leaders are in constant consultation on various issues, which has been mentioned multiple times by the heads of those agencies.”
