Arsen Torosyan: 1308 Surgeries Already Performed in 2019

According to Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan, under the "Stent for Life" program, 1308 surgeries have already been performed in 2019, compared to 992 in the same period of 2018.

In August 2019, changes and additions were made to the criteria of the "Stent for Life" program by the minister's order.

“The urgent surgical services for acute myocardial infarction, provided under guaranteed free conditions by the state, will now also include cases of myocardial infarction without ST segment elevation when there is a corresponding clinical picture of myocardial ischemia, at least a 1000 ng/l level of troponin recorded in the blood, and thrombosis or significant unstable narrowing of one of the coronary arteries responsible for the myocardial infarction,” the minister noted.

Citizens who were previously excluded from the program will now be included, and an increase of approximately 10-15 percent in interventions is expected.
