Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze Resigns
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has announced his resignation. Media reports indicate that Bakhtadze will be succeeded by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakharia.
The position of Minister of Internal Affairs will be taken over by former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. The ruling "Georgian Dream" party discussed the transfer of positions within the government yesterday, on September 1. Discussions regarding the reshuffling in the government will continue on September 3.
