Former Rector of the Armenian State University of Economics, Ruben Hayrapetyan, has responded to false news circulating about him on his Facebook page. He stated, "Certain people, in order to promote their interests, are trying to spread false news that the sincere and large-scale expression of students is being orchestrated by me, and at the same time, they have begun a counter-campaign against me through directed calls, letters, and conversations with students. I just want to say that those who make such statements are revealing their entire contempt for the students. They have that very opinion about students, that they can be 'exploited'.

Do you even have a rough idea of who you are talking about? Have you seen their bright faces, have you perceived the quality of their speech? These youths are more advanced and independent than you and me. You claim I am orchestrating... Orchestrations and conspiracies are your style, dear colleagues; the facts are present. You even instruct on Facebook to disseminate materials so that a few 'shares' can be seen. That’s our difference: none of my supporters would ever dare to call students or write defamatory remarks about others like you do. Taking advantage of this occasion, you preach daily to students that supposedly everyone is against me, and that reforms have been flawed.

For seven months, you noticed nothing, and suddenly you start making revelations of the century and speaking maliciously behind my back. I regret that some misled colleagues are also involved in this affair, who are under great pressure. You are reducing the class hours for the people around me, and with a magnifying glass, you are searching for financial issues while I was even spending my own money when the buying process was delayed. You try to attribute all possible shortcomings in the ranks (including the deliberate violations of some of your direct responsibilities) to the top management, not realizing that this will turn against you. It's embarrassing, dear colleagues; you also know very well how ridiculous your actions are.

Instead of statements weighed by your self-serving value system, take things seriously and understand that, regardless of the short-term outcomes of the movement, this is the greatest victory in the medium and long term.
