Examination Phases for Professional Cadres at the Gyumri Customs Post Have Begun
Higher education, computer literacy, excellent command of Armenian, and sufficient knowledge of foreign languages are the primary requirements for working as customs inspectors at the customs post.
Work experience is not a primary requirement; this will be addressed by the Training Center of the State Revenue Committee. Vacancies will be filled not through a competitive process, but through accelerated retraining and examination procedures. This was announced to SHANTNEWS.am by Shushan Nersisyan, Deputy Chair of the State Revenue Committee.
Regarding the functions of customs inspectors, Shushan Nersisyan noted that the work will primarily involve processing documents, registering vehicles, inspections, and clearances. Over 500 applicants submitted their applications for the previously announced preparatory courses for vacant positions, with most of them hailing from the Shirak region. In the first phase, which concerned foreign language proficiency testing, 120 of them passed.
The foreign language testing phase was followed by specialized training courses. In three days, they learned the core functions and responsibilities of a customs officer. The second phase of the exam period is the theoretical knowledge test, in which the 120 participants who passed the first phase took part. The tasks consist of 30 questions across 5 different options, requiring answers to specialized questions.
The theoretical examination is not the final phase. The 60 candidates who pass the threshold will undergo practical training at the capital's customs post, after which they will be transferred to Gyumri. In the initial phase, 25 specialists from the Noragavit customs office will work alongside the 60 new employees at the Gyumri customs post.
A division of the Road Police will also operate at the new customs post, where there will be a vehicle registration and accounting center. This center will also fill its vacancies through a testing process.
