Representatives Request Release from Custody for Akhalkalaki Youth

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that members of the "My Step" faction, Shirak Torosyan and Armen Pambukhchyan, have submitted a request for the release of a young man, Akaki Tonoyan, who is charged with hooliganism. It turns out that the young man is one of the protagonists of a rather sad incident; he and ten of his friends caused trouble for another youth about a month ago, leading to an ongoing criminal investigation for hooliganism.

Regarding the connection between the young man and the representatives, it was noted that the accused is from Akhalkalaki, a compatriot of Shirak Torosyan. Torosyan did not deny the fact of the request: "Yes, I submitted it because he is a Javadkhk man, a young person. Like almost all Javadkhk people, he often finds himself in fights; I went through similar experiences during my student years, and I understand him very well."

However, the young man is facing hooliganism charges. "Hooliganism, in this case, refers to a fight; he didn’t steal or commit a crime, it was a regular brawl. I don’t know the details, but usually, Akhalkalaki people do not beat ten individuals at once," Torosyan emphasized.

He also stated that he does not even know the young man personally; his parents asked him for help as a representative from Javadkhk, and he considered it his duty to assist the youth. He added that Pambukhchyan also has Javadkhk roots, which is why they jointly submitted the request.
