Preparing for the Autumn Session's Work: Lena Nazaryan
As previously reported, MP Edgar Arakelyan from the 'My Step' faction will resign from his mandate. According to ArmDaily.am sources, the reason for the decision to resign is that the MP was highly upset during the discussion of several controversial issues at the CPP board meeting, including the Amulsar issue and the Istanbul Convention, noting that there was no consensus.
Edgar Arakelyan is not the only one expressing opposition to the exploitation of the Amulsar mine, and it is not ruled out that several other MPs from 'My Step' may also resign from their mandates.
In particular, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Lena Nazaryan, who actively campaigned against the exploitation of the Amulsar mine during her activist days, is also expected to resign. However, she is now silent and avoids expressing public opinions, as is Varazdat Karapetyan, who has openly stated his opposition to the mine's exploitation, as well as Gayane Baghdasaryan.
ArmDaily.am attempted to obtain comments from the MPs; in response to our question on whether Lena Nazaryan intends to resign, she briefly replied, 'We are preparing for the autumn session's work.' Meanwhile, we were unable to reach Varazdat Karapetyan.
