I Cannot Say Whether Ruben Hayrapetyan Will Teach or Not: Arayik Harutyunyan

On August 21, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan announced that Ruben Hayrapetyan, the acting rector of the Armenian State University of Economics, would leave his position.

Just one day after this announcement, the minister appointed Diana Galoyan, the university's pro-rector for educational work and a doctor of economics, as the new acting rector.

When asked by journalists whether Ruben Hayrapetyan would no longer be teaching, Arayik Harutyunyan responded today: "We cannot constantly address this question, as what needed to be said has already been said. I cannot answer whether he will teach or not. You should ask the university. I summarize information related to our educational institutions once a week. In reality, there is so much work in three ministries that you cannot constantly follow the same processes."

In response to the observation that students had organized a petition and were protesting against Hayrapetyan's dismissal, the minister stated that they would respond once they receive the letter.
