Azerbaijan Corrects Its Mistakes from the April War, Military Expert
Military expert and founder-president of the "Armenian Powerful Army" NGO Karen Hovanisyan writes on his Facebook page: "Azerbaijan is correcting its mistakes from the April War.">
In the years following the April 2016 war, Azerbaijan drastically changed its military policy. While previously it focused solely on acquiring military technology and ammunition, it now conducts what can be described as an expanded military policy.
Initially, it has carried out and continues to conduct numerous joint exercises with Georgia, with whom it also has some border tensions. Thus, Azerbaijan is trying to establish close military cooperation with Georgia, so that at the necessary moment Georgia does not hinder Azerbaijan's actions.
During the April War, Azerbaijan indeed activated nearly its entire arsenal; however, it lost in one aspect: its moral-psychological state was not at a sufficient level. Today, various military-patriotic camps and events are trying to compensate for this shortfall. Upon close examination, one can notice that the focus is placed on the hotter-blooded age group of 15-25 years.
It is also interesting that this year, they are conducting a training exercise for the third time, a type of exercise that has never happened before. Azerbaijan has previously held exercises for military forces, then for military camps, conducted training on navigating and reaching targets under night conditions, in forest and mountainous terrain, and in adverse weather conditions, and just a few days ago also held a competitive event. As a rule, these exercises are attended by members of special operations units.
