Video: Armen Ashotyan Calls on MFA to Organize Training for 'My Step' MPs on Artsakh Issue

I listened to the speech of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the conference of diplomats and the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and once again experienced deep disappointment. This was stated by the Vice President of the RA Republican Party, Armen Ashotyan, during a Facebook live stream.

“Democracy in foreign relations cannot be the hallmark of a country like ours. I set aside whether Armenia is a democracy today or not. Suppose it is. But remember the examples of Georgia in 2008 and Ukraine in 2014 and see what dangerous thesis you are promoting,” he noted.

For the vice president of the RA Republican Party, it is surprising that the Prime Minister spoke about being disappointed with the legacy inherited from previous governments regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh resolution. “What are you disappointed about? What did you inherit that was ever the best-negotiated package? Due to your incompetent policies, the agreements from Vienna, St. Petersburg, and Geneva have been excluded from the negotiation agenda. Which co-chairs no longer emphasize the three principles of resolution, including the right of peoples to self-determination?”

Armen Ashotyan calls on the MFA to organize training for 'My Step' MPs on the Artsakh issue. “I urge the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to conduct training sessions on the Artsakh issue for your parliamentary members. Your MPs cannot even support you on the Amulsar issue, let alone protect our interests abroad.”

He emphasizes that constant work is needed to prevent the drawing of parallels with Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Transnistria. “Yes, some are trying to draw parallels with Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Transnistria. To prevent this, continuous work is needed. We have done this. Finally, read the EU-Armenia agreement and compare it with the EU agreements with Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova, and see what successes we have achieved. I am saddened, Mr. Prime Minister, that you continue to present our country to the outside world at such an amateur level.”
