Tragic Incident at Gegharkunik Region's ‘Geopromining Gold’ Sotk Gold Mine: One Fatality
Today, on August 28, a tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 08:00, the Vardenis police department received a report that an unfortunate accident had taken place at the Sotk gold mine.
According to shamshyan.com, police and investigators have determined that on the same day, at approximately 07:50, a resident of Vardenis, Seryozha Tadevosyan, lost control of his PAZ 672 vehicle with the license plate 04 TО 172 in the administrative territory of the ‘Geopromining Gold’ company's Sotk gold mine under unknown circumstances. As a result, a passenger in the vehicle, 32-year-old Gurgen Darbinyan from Vardenis, fell out of the bus and ended up under the bus and gravel, where he died at the scene.
Rescue workers, police, and mine employees managed to lift the bus and retrieve the body, which was subsequently sent to the Vardenis morgue per the investigator's instructions. Senior investigator A. Antonian is preparing materials on the incident, and several examinations have been assigned, including forensic medical and automotive technical assessments.
