Fuel Prices Drop in Armenia: Gasoline by 10 Dram, Diesel by 20 Dram
In recent days, the price of gasoline in Armenia has decreased, specifically the price of regular gasoline per liter is now 420 drams, premium gasoline at 440 drams, and diesel fuel at 430 drams. Over the past 3-4 days, the prices for both types of gasoline have dropped by 10 drams, while diesel fuel has reduced by 20 drams. This information is reported by Armdaily.am.
Moreover, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, there was a 2.7% increase in gasoline and a 3.1% increase in diesel fuel prices in May compared to April of this year. In July, one liter of regular gasoline is sold at 430 drams in gas stations across the country, while premium is priced at 450 drams, whereas in April, regular gasoline was costing 410 drams per liter. This means that in one month, it has increased by 20 drams. Regarding diesel fuel, in May, it rose by 1.9% compared to December of the previous year.
“I believe that the decrease in gasoline prices may be due to different companies or individuals starting to import gasoline into Armenia, something that was previously excluded. In other words, the liberalization of the market has led to increased competition, which in turn has resulted in lower prices,” notes Armen Kotolyan, head of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body.
