Commemorative Medals Issued Ahead of 'Maestro Mansourian-80' Concert Series
Commemorative medals have been issued in anticipation of the 'Maestro Mansourian-80' concert series dedicated to Tigran Mansourian's jubilee.
During a press conference today, the first sample of the commemorative medals was presented to the maestro, so he could gift them to the attendees of the event.
Upon seeing the medal, Mansourian was emotional, stating "They are incomparable." Speaking about his age, he remarked that he is 80 years old externally. "Internally, I am neither 80 nor do I have the time for it," he added.
The concert series is organized by the Yerevan Municipality with the support of the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports. Events dedicated to Mansourian's jubilee include concerts planned in Yerevan, Stepanakert, and Gyumri.
The press conference was attended by People's Artist of Armenia Tigran Mansourian, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, and Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra Sergey Smbatyan.
