Charges Filed Against Two Individuals in the Murder Case of Hambik Arakelyan

The investigation into the criminal case initiated regarding the incident that occurred near a restaurant complex in the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan is continuing at the investigative department of the Yerevan City Investigation Division of the RA Investigative Committee.

The director of the restaurant complex has been charged, while another individual has been put on the wanted list. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee.

Previously, it was announced that on August 25, 2019, two residents of Yerevan, born in 1976 and 1960, were admitted to the ‘Erebuni’ medical center with gunshot wounds—one with a gunshot wound to the left side of the abdomen (clinical death) and the other with gunshot wounds to the left thigh, a gunshot injury to the lower third of the right femur, and a fracture of the right femur with displacement.

As a result of the necessary investigative and procedural actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated by the Shengavit administrative district's investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, several circumstances of the incident have been clarified, and two individuals have been involved as defendants.

Based on a sufficient combination of evidence obtained, the director of the restaurant complex has been charged under Part 4 of Article 258, Part 1 of Article 235, and Part 2 of Article 332 of the RA Criminal Code. A motion has been submitted to the court to select pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint against him. Another individual, a Yerevan resident born in 1976, has also been involved as a defendant under Part 4 of Article 258 and Part 1 of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code. A motion has been presented to the court regarding selecting pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint, and he has been declared wanted.
