Putin Serves Ice Cream to Erdogan, Requests Change to Be Given for Aviation Development

During the MAKS Air Show, Russian President Vladimir Putin served Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Russian ice cream. Approaching the kiosk, Putin showed interest in the selection. The translator began hurriedly translating for Erdogan. Putin leaned over the counter to make his choice. “Give me the Volgograd one,” he said as he handed the ice cream to his guest. “And I will take this,” he pointed at a tub of ice cream from “Korovka Korenovka.”

“Chocolate or cream?” the vendor asked. “Give me both,” Putin chuckled.

The vendor quickly calculated the total cost of the purchase, which was 210 rubles. Putin pulled out a bundle of banknotes from his pocket, which included 5,000-ruble notes, 1,000-ruble notes, and 200-ruble notes. He handed 5,000 rubles to the vendor. “Please give the change to the minister. This is for aviation development,” he gestured towards Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

“Thank you for your generosity,” Manturov laughed.
