We Must Change the Perception of Gyumri; Enough With Associating It as a Disaster Zone - Prime Minister
I have never seen this square, Vardanants, so crowded, even during the days of the Revolution. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during his speech at a festive concert organized on the occasion of the city's day in Gyumri.
He noted that this celebration is for all cities and towns in Armenia, not just for Gyumri. “We must change the perception of Gyumri. Enough with associating it as a disaster zone; it is a center of civilization and democracy, of victory and revolution,” said Pashinyan, adding that this does not mean that the consequences of the earthquake have been resolved.
Pashinyan announced that this year’s Independence Day celebrations will be centered in Gyumri. The Prime Minister declared a month of Gyumri, urging all Armenians to definitely come and visit Gyumri.
