Israel Launches Air Strikes Towards Syria
On Saturday evening, the Israel Defense Forces struck Iranian forces' assets around the Syrian capital, Damascus, to thwart an attack planned using drone technology, as reported by РИА Новости. It is noted that several missiles launched by the Israeli side were destroyed before reaching their targets.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage following the strikes. “We have targeted infrastructure objects, but there may also be human losses. We know that personnel were present there,” stated Jonathan Conricus, an official representative of the Israel Defense Forces, emphasizing that the strike focused on assets belonging to Iran’s "Al Quds" unit located in the Akhraba area southeast of Damascus.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally confirmed the military's actions, reiterating that the intent was to prevent planned attacks against the country by Iranian forces.
It is worth noting that Israel had also conducted strikes towards Syria on June 12 and July 1.
