France Ready to Abandon Digital Taxes Under Certain Conditions: Macron

France is prepared to abandon its digital tax on technology companies if a global agreement emerges regarding taxation for internet giants such as Facebook and Google. This announcement was made by French President Emmanuel Macron, as reported by AP.

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on French wine imports in response to the tax, which he believes is "unfairly aimed at American companies."

“Yesterday I clearly told Trump that if we can reach an agreement within the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development), we will not need to impose the tax,” Macron stated.
