Wildfire Raging in Vardavank Village, Burning 7 Hectares of Vegetation and 8 Hectares of Forest

As of today, August 24, at 06:30, firefighting operations have resumed at the end of Vardavank village in the Syunik region, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

Further information will be provided. Earlier, NEWS.am reported that on August 22, at 18:34, the '911' service received a call about a blaze occurring at the end of Vardavank village in Syunik region.

One firefighting unit from the regional emergency management squad was dispatched to the scene. The fire was contained at 21:07. Operations were halted due to darkness.

As of 11:00 on August 23, rescue workers and forestry staff are on duty at the site, where approximately 7 hectares of vegetation and 8 hectares of forest are burning.
