Trump Offers Assistance to Brazil in Saving the Planet's 'Lungs'

The United States is prepared to offer support to Brazil in combating the forest fires in the Amazon. This was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.

"I just spoke with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Our trade opportunities are amazing, and the relationship between our countries is strong, potentially stronger than ever. I told him that the U.S. can help with the Amazon forest fires; we are ready to help," Trump wrote on Twitter.

The fires in the humid tropical forests of the Amazon have been ongoing for more than a week and are increasingly spreading to more areas. Numerous countries have called for efforts to save and protect the planet's 'lungs.'

French President Emmanuel Macron called the forest fires an international crisis and accused Bolsonaro of failing to meet climate obligations.
