The Fire May Resurge: Details on the Blaze in Vayots Dzor Province

Vardan Melikyan, the Deputy Minister of Environment of Armenia, has posted on Facebook with new details regarding the fire that erupted in Vayots Dzor. “I just spoke with Hrachya Hovakimyan, the director of the Khosrov Forest State Reserve, and Edik Harutyunyan, the director of Vayots Dzor forestry. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Environment of Armenia, we have managed to bring under control the fires that broke out on August 23 near the Khosrov forest and in the Hermon village. The work is still ongoing. UPDATE: With the rising temperatures, the fire may reignite, so the danger remains,” he wrote.
