SASP Ensures Food Products are Not Sold from the Burning Warehouse of ‘Zyunic Refrigerator’ LLC
On August 19, a fire broke out on the 3rd to 5th floors of the refrigerated building of ‘Zyunic Refrigerator’ LLC located on Arshakunyats Avenue in Yerevan. The fire has been extinguished today. In a conversation with Tert.am, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), Edmon Zargaryan, reported that the insulating materials of the freezers burned, and due to difficult access, extinguishing the fire took a long time.
“Walls were punctured wherever possible, and water was poured in. The surface area to reach each floor was 240 square meters, plus the walls that firefighters could not approach, and the stored goods,” said Zargaryan.
The main reason for the prolonged firefighting efforts was the building's closed structure, which complicated access to the burning and smoking hotspots.
Anush Harutyunyan, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of SASP, also noted in a conversation with Tert.am that their inspectors monitored to ensure that food products stored in the refrigerated warehouses were not sold outside the fire zone.
At 13:54 on August 19, a fire broke out on the 3rd to 5th floors (each floor approximately 740 square meters) of ‘Zyunic Refrigerator’ LLC at 9/2 Arshakunyats Avenue in Yerevan. The firefighting operations involved 11 fire and rescue units from the MES Emergency Rescue Department of Yerevan, the operational team from the regional rescue department’s fire crew, the special rescue team from the Rescue Forces Management Center, and 5 fire trucks.
