First Graders in Akhalkalaki Decrease by 13 Percent
In the Akhalkalaki municipality, 605 first graders have been registered. From the new academic year, all first graders will receive netbooks, but this number is not final as the registration process for first graders is still ongoing.
According to Jnews, the head of the Akhalkalaki Educational Resource Center, Teresa Chivchyan, stated that as of today, 605 first graders are registered, but this number could change. She also mentioned that those who are currently abroad and have not yet registered can do so upon their arrival, and they too will be provided with netbooks.
Compared to last year, the number of first graders is lower at this point. Last year, 694 first graders were registered in the Akhalkalaki municipality.
Every year, around 50,000 first graders in Georgian schools receive netbooks. The state program “My First Computer” started in Georgia in 2010.
Various educational programs for teaching Georgian and foreign languages, mathematics and logic skills, as well as educational and cognitive games, are loaded onto the netbooks.
