British Airways Cancels Flights Due to Expected Pilot Strike

British Airways has canceled flights for at least five days in September due to a planned pilot strike, BBC News reports.

The airline's pilots have announced intentions to go on a three-day strike on September 9, 10, and 27 over a pay dispute. Although the strike will last for three days, passengers have been informed that flights from September 8 to 12 have also been canceled, and one customer reported that a flight on September 25 was also scrapped.

Many customers have not been able to find alternatives for their canceled flights. The airline itself stated that 145,000 people utilize their flights each day.

“We are doing everything we can to prevent this unfair and damaging disruption to our customers’ plans. The airline undergoes very complex operations, and there may be cancellations on other days during widespread disruptions,” the airline said.
