A soldier of the Artsakh Defense Army refused to return to service from the hospital and harmed his health
One of the soldiers of the Artsakh Defense Army’s military unit refused to return to service from the hospital and performed self-mutilation with a razor.
Tert.am learned from the Judicial Information System that during inpatient treatment at the military hospital, the serviceman learned that he would have to return to service after being discharged. According to the charges, after hearing the news of his return to service, the soldier carried out self-mutilation in the hospital's bathroom, which led to his temporary inability to fulfill military duties.
The serviceman has been charged under Article 363, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia for causing harm to his health (self-mutilation), which resulted in or could have resulted in a temporary suspension of military service or specific duties.
He is punishable by detention for a maximum period of three months, or by holding him in a disciplinary battalion for up to three years, or by imprisonment for a maximum of four years.
A preventive measure has been chosen for him, which is a signature not to leave.
The case has been sent to court and accepted for proceedings.
