17 Hectares of Vegetation Burning on the Road to Khosrov Forest State Reserve

On August 24, firefighting operations continue for the fire that broke out on August 23 at 12:07 PM on the road leading to the Khosrov Forest State Reserve in the area known as "Meghrasar." This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

Two firefighting crews, two operational groups, and a rescue team from the MES Special Rescue Operations Center have been dispatched to the scene.

As of 10:30 AM, approximately 17 hectares of vegetation are on fire. The efforts are being conducted in hard-to-reach areas using portable backpacks and firefighting tools. Due to the lack of water sources in the area, the water supply process is being ensured through all-terrain vehicles. Constant reconnaissance is being conducted on site.

A total of 74 rescuers are involved in the firefighting efforts, including 50 staff members from the Khosrov Forest State Reserve, local self-government officials, and community residents. The firefighting process is being managed by Minister of Emergency Situations F. Tsolakyan.

Additional information will be provided.

As a reminder, the fire broke out on August 23 at 12:07 PM in the "Meghrasar" area on the road leading to the Khosrov Forest State Reserve. In a conversation with Tert.am, MES spokesperson Edmond Zargaryan stated that the fire is not within the state reserve's territory, and work is underway to isolate the fire to prevent it from spreading to the reserve.
