I Don't Think Mining Should Be Exploited Next to the Resort, Says Woman from Jermuk to Pashinyan

We are negatively inclined regarding the exploitation of the Amulsar mine; we do not want the mine to be exploited. This was stated today, August 23, in Jermuk during a conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan by one of the city residents.

“Jermuk should remain a resort. I do not think the mine is safe,” she said.

In response to Pashinyan's comment that if it is proven that the exploitation of the mine is safe, would she still oppose it, the resident replied, “I still disagree because the resort should remain as it is. I do not think that mining should be conducted next to a resort. It does not fit in my imagination. The whole population shares this opinion,” she said.

The woman noted that it is unfortunate that she has to meet the country's prime minister under such circumstances. “We are to blame for coming here like uninvited guests,” Pashinyan responded.
