French Surgeon Suspected of Raping 250 Children During Operations
A surgeon based in southwestern France, Joël Le Scouarnec, is suspected of sexually assaulting 250 children. For over 30 years, starting from the 1990s, he has reportedly engaged in sexual acts against 200 to 300 minors, both boys and girls. This information was reported by The Times.
The 66-year-old doctor denies the charges but has admitted to committing certain sexual acts against children. It has been indicated that Le Scouarnec predominantly carried out such actions while the children were under anesthesia.
In 2005, the doctor was accused of possessing child pornography. He was arrested in 2017 on charges of raping 4-year-old and 6-year-old girls. His trial is set to take place at the end of 2019.
During the investigation, law enforcement officials discovered the doctor's diary, in which he detailed how he perpetrated sexual acts against children. More than 250 children's names are mentioned in the diary. The surgeon explained that it was merely the product of his 'fantasy.'
