Taxi Drivers Exempt from Fines if State Duty Paid within 6 Months: Ministry Clarification
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia has provided clarifications regarding amendments to the Law on State Duties. According to a statement from the ministry, the following details are provided:
The ministry informs legal and physical entities with obligations for state duties related to the license for passenger transportation using taxi vehicles that on July 11 of this year, the law "On the Amnesty of a Number of Administrative Offenses and Fines Imposed for State Duties" came into effect. According to this law, individuals who have obligations for state duties under Article 19, Part 15, Points 15.5 and 15.6 of the Law on State Duties, incurred before January 1, 2019, will be exempt from paying fines calculated for non-payment of state duties if the principal amount of state duty is settled within six months from the enactment of this law.
Additionally, the law amending the Law on State Duties (No. HO-69-N of June 25, 2019) came into effect on June 29 of this year, which nullified the state duty rates established for individuals operating a single taxi license under Article 19, Part 15, Point 15.6 of the Law on State Duties. From the date of this law's enactment, the calculation of state duties for licenses issued to individuals for passenger transportation with a single taxi vehicle has ceased.
