How the General Acquired His Villa: "Zhamanak"
"Zhamanak" newspaper reports: "When my father was the head of the village administration, and when the village administrations were disbanded in Armenia, this building remained. I told my father, 'We will take this shabby communal house for our needs.' But back then, it was a matter of reputation; it was his estate, and it would be shameful for someone else to take his estate," General Seyran Saroyan stated during a press conference held at his home the day before, responding to the question of how he acquired his villa in the center of Ejmiadzin.
Residents of Ejmiadzin told us that the villa belonging to Saroyan was indeed the building of the village administration, and the head of the village administration was Firdus Harutyunyan from the village of Dogs in the Ejmiadzin region. Saroyan's father's name is also Firdus, but Saroyan. The father and son Saroyans took the building from Firdus Harutyunyan. However, it remains unclear why Seyran Saroyan claims that the head of the village administration was his father."
