Building Carpets Are Sometimes Cleaned: Finance Minister on 5 Million Dram Spent for Cleaning Rugs in Parliament
Building carpets are sometimes cleaned, and I do not participate in how this is organized: said Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan during a briefing with journalists, referring to the 5 million dram expense allocated for cleaning the carpets in the National Assembly due to the Vardavar holiday.
According to Janjughazyan, this cleaning, as a separate expense, is not planned. When asked for his assessment of such an expense, Janjughazyan stated that he would find it difficult to provide an evaluation. "The expenses are made within the planned framework. As a representative of the ministry, I believe our goal should be to ensure that these expenses are carried out while adhering to all regulations. If they have been followed, then everything is normal," he said, adding that the question of necessity should be directed to the person who proposed that expense.
When asked if 5 million is insignificant in the context of larger spending, the minister noted, "In the context of 1 trillion 680 billion dram, 5 million is a minor expense, but from the perspective of big and small, every dram is important, as every dram assumes that a greater result should be achieved."
