Pobeda Denies Reports of Hard Landing in Gyumri

Pobeda Airlines, part of the Aeroflot group, has denied reports of a hard landing by one of its aircraft in Gyumri. This was announced to reporters by a company representative, according to RIA Novosti.

On Monday, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia stated that a Pobeda Airlines aircraft made contact with the runway with its tail during landing at Shirak Airport in Gyumri, resulting in damage to the tail section. There were 173 passengers on board the aircraft.

“During the post-flight inspection in Gyumri, damage to the tail section was discovered, which occurred while going through the second turn; however, the information about a hard landing is not accurate,” the representative said. They also noted that a backup aircraft has already departed for Gyumri to collect the returning flight’s passengers.
