Ukrainian Airlines Plane Overbooked: One Seat Sold to Multiple Passengers
A seat on a Ukrainian Airlines flight was sold to multiple passengers, resulting in several travelers unable to depart. This was reported by 'Hetq,' noting that their journalist Ani Sarkisyan was among those who could not board.
When she approached to check in her luggage, she was informed that there were no seats left on the plane, and she would not be able to travel. According to sources, six other passengers faced a similar situation. When the journalist sought clarification from the Ukrainian Airlines office at Zvartnots, an employee reportedly pulled at her to try to take away the phone that was recording the situation.
The main office of Ukrainian Airlines informed 'Hetq' that there was one free seat on the Yerevan-Kyiv flight and directed them to contact the employee at the Zvartnots office responsible for the flight.
The flight manager, Karlen Martirosyan, confirmed that the Ukrainian Airlines PS 614 flight was overbooked, with no available seats for passengers, resulting in six individuals being unable to travel.
Ukrainian Airlines employee Lilith Davtyan mentioned that their director Paruyr Vardanian is on vacation and unable to speak with the media, and they do not have a press spokesperson.
Satenik Hovhannisyan, the public relations officer at Zvartnots airport, did not respond to calls.
