In the First Half of This Year, 98 Drivers Lost Their License for Driving Under the Influence
In the first half of 2019, the Road Police identified 839,167 traffic rule violations. In the same period last year, 871,665 violations were detected. This information was provided by the Police Press Service in response to an inquiry from NEWS.am.
According to the agency, 2,708 cases of driving under the influence were recorded (compared to 2,636 in 2018). There were 332,372 recorded speed limit violations (2018: 338,034), and 188,684 breaches of lane markings (2018: 196,757).
During this period, 4,421 instances of entering the opposing traffic lane were detected (these are cases prohibited by the Road Police), compared to 3,792 instances in 2018. Additionally, 23,555 cases of traffic light violations were recorded (2018: 18,581).
In the first half of 2019, 98 drivers lost their licenses for driving under the influence (2018: 139 drivers).
