Today, Members of the 'My Step' Faction Met with Mr. Osipyan: MP
Sona Ghazaryan wrote on her Facebook page: “Today, with a number of deputies from the 'My Step' faction, we met with Mr. Osipyan, Mr. Ghukasyan, and Mr. Ashot Aharonyan. We discussed a number of issues ranging from pickpocketing to the apparent increase in crime, police system reforms, and a visionary outlook.
Dear friends, regarding pickpocketing and the so-called 'catch-and-release' practices, there are legislative gaps that the National Assembly’s Committee on State and Legal Affairs will address as soon as possible. We discussed the proportional use of force and the institutional strengthening of the police as a structure, as well as the ongoing work being carried out.
I’m pleased to note that there is a clear vision within the system and ongoing daily work, for which, unfortunately, years are needed for visibility due to various objective reasons. The deputies particularly emphasized the importance of proper communication regarding the work being done, as Suren Grigoryan noted that the public dissemination of information is a significant part of this work.
In reality, providing information about the work done and organizing access for a broad section of the public is a challenge among various agencies, and especially during times of 'information wars,' we need to work more organized. We agreed that such meetings will take place on a more regular basis. I will share some numbers next time.”
