Armenian Defense Ministry Officially Confirms Advancements of Armenian Armed Forces

The spokesperson for the Minister of Defense, Arzrun Hovhannisyan, has confirmed the information regarding the improvement of positions by the Armenian armed forces in the Tavush region along the border with Azerbaijan, but refrained from providing specific numerical data.

According to a report by armeniasputnik.am, Hovhannisyan stated, "Let me not specify exact figures or hectares; I made a statement on the very same day that if we are not making noise like Azerbaijan, it does not mean we are not improving our positions. This has been an ongoing process in various areas, including last year, when they tried to present things with 'black PR' from the Nakhchivan direction. We are also improving positions there; this is a consistent effort of the armed forces." He added that these actions and advancements by the RA armed forces have come as a surprise to the adversary.

It is worth noting that historian and military expert Arthur Yeghiazaryan recently posted on his Facebook page, stating that the RA armed forces have been able to liberate more than 140 hectares of territory and that it is solely due to the effective actions of the RA Armed Forces that the enemy's provocations have been halted.

Yeghiazaryan observed that the purpose of the Azerbaijani provocative actions was to establish control over the Armenia-Georgia motorway by targeting the road directly from the advantageous positions occupied by Armenian forces. He further remarked that if the enemy had succeeded in implementing its aggressive plans, it would also jeopardize the safety of the gas pipeline entering Armenia through Georgian territory. This is a vital asset of significant importance for the Republic of Armenia.
