Father of Soldier Found on Azerbaijani Side Still in Artsakh: Details

As previously reported, days ago, a soldier, Araik Ghazaryan, born in 2000, left his combat position under unclear circumstances from one of the military units deployed in the southeastern direction of the Defense Army. Araik Ghazaryan is from the Yeghegis community in the Vayots Dzor region. He has one brother who is a contract soldier, and the family is socially disadvantaged, engaged in agriculture.

Later, the media reported that the mother’s health deteriorated following her son’s incident, and she was taken to the hospital, while the father immediately traveled to Artsakh to clarify any information on the situation. To understand how the soldier's family is currently doing, ArmDaily.am spoke with the community mayor, who stated that they are in a difficult situation and have as much information as what is being reported by the media.

“The father is still in Artsakh; upon hearing the news, he went and continues to stay until he can learn something about his son. The mother’s condition is now normal; she has been discharged from the hospital and is now at home. Since an investigation has started, we are waiting for the results. Araik has always been in contact with his brother and kept him informed about everything, mentioning that there is tension in the military unit, which is why the brother is also participating in the investigation, and everything will become clear once it concludes,” said the mayor.
