Protest held in support of Amulsar
A protest is underway in front of the government today, August 15, in support of Amulsar. The 'Armenian Environmental Front' initiative has issued a statement, noting that the Lebanese company has not provided a conclusion regarding Amulsar but has merely conducted a review of documents submitted by Lydian over the years.
The statement highlights that the review has revealed numerous deficiencies, omissions, and evidence of incomplete or entirely absent data, as well as incomplete assessments of risks and the application of scientific methods that are not acceptable. It also mentions misrepresented facts, faulty conclusions, and more.
The initiative calls on everyone to read the conclusion personally, urging them not to be swayed by manipulations: 'Do not fall for various manipulations; read it independently or listen only to the opinions of impartial experts.'
It should be noted that on August 14, the Investigative Committee published the final conclusion of the Amulsar mine examination, which was commissioned to a team of experts from Advanced Resources Development (ELARD). According to the findings of the examination, the likelihood that the contaminated waters from the Amulsar mine will impact the springs of Jermuk is very low, as there are no pathways for the flow of groundwater and contamination transfer.
