Attempted Murder in Lori: Criminal Case Initiated
The Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee is conducting necessary investigative and procedural actions to clarify the circumstances surrounding an attempted murder of a 32-year-old resident of Vanadzor.
According to preliminary data, the individual suspected of committing the alleged crime opened fire on the abdomen of a 36-year-old resident of Vanadzor on Batumi Street, using a firearm that was illegally obtained and possessed, with the intent to unlawfully take a life, causing a gunshot wound. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, the crime was not completed.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee under Article 34-104, part 1, and Article 235, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code, assigning the investigation to a specialized investigative group.
During the investigation, a number of investigative and procedural actions have been carried out. The 32-year-old man has been recognized as the victim, and his clothing at the time of admission to the hospital has been confiscated. An examination of the crime scene was conducted, revealing and seizing 7 spent cartridges. A forensic medical examination has been appointed, and directives have been issued to the investigating authorities.
Given his health condition, the victim has not been able to participate in the investigative actions. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, with necessary actions being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the case and the identity of the individual who committed the alleged crime.
Notice: The suspect in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the legal procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a court verdict that has entered into legal force.
