171 Police Injured During Hong Kong Protests

The Hong Kong police have reported on the number of injuries sustained during recent protests. It has been noted that 171 law enforcement officers were injured as a result of clashes. The protests were reportedly incited by the demonstrators themselves, who also used weapons to inflict harm on the police.

Furthermore, Hong Kong International Airport has resumed normal operations after police dispersed activists who had been protesting there for two days using tear gas. The Hong Kong court issued an order to remove the protesters from the airport terminals. They can now continue their demonstrations only in designated areas within the public concourse.

Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and over 300 flights were canceled in the past two days due to the sit-in protests.

The protests in Hong Kong, which began 11 weeks ago, were aimed at opposing proposed amendments to extradition laws. According to the new legislation, individuals accused of various crimes could be extradited from Hong Kong to China. Although the government postponed discussions on the extradition bill during the initial weeks of the protests, demonstrators are calling for its complete withdrawal. Additionally, new demands have emerged during the protests, including calls for democratic reforms, the resignation of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, and an investigation into incidents of police violence.
