Parents of Police Officer Killed During the Attack on the Police Base Request Permission to Attend Court Hearing

In the case of the ten defendants charged with the capture of the police base, including Pavel Manukyan and Varoujan Avetisyan, the court today heard testimony from five additional witnesses. They provided statements regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of police officer Yuri Tephanosyan and the burned vehicles in the police base area.

At the end of the session, Judge Mesrop Makyan announced a request from Yuri Tephanosyan’s parents, Vahram and Ashkhen Tephanosyan, addressed to the court. They asked for permission to participate in the court hearings, even though they are not parties in the trial.

The judge reminded that the sessions are being held partially behind closed doors, and the relatives and supporters of the defendants are not allowed to attend, as they have previously disrupted the proceedings. Nevertheless, the parents of the fallen police officers were allowed to attend the hearings.
